- 23 students took part in our event
Saturday, names & gradings are below. All students now registered with
international status at, Kukkiwon building, Seoul, Korea. (Olympics
only recognizes competitors with Kukkiwon certification)
- Students performed forms, full contact
sparring, breaking, Hapkido self-defense, Escrima stick fighting,
refereeing skills, multiple attackers and provided essays.
- Breaking included multiple pine boards
(1"x12"x10"), concrete slabs (2"x7"x16") and tiles.
- Dan = Black belt 15 & older, Poom = Jr.
Black Belt, under 15
- Grading done by President, Pacific Coast
Taekwondo, Master Daniel Witt. Master Witt is a 6th degree Black Belt,
with 30 years in martial arts, including Taekwondo, Hapkido, Escrima and
Tai Chi. Master Witt is in his 4th term as President of the BC Taekwondo
Association, a member of Sport BC and the BC Coaches Assn'. He has been
the sole martial arts provider for Langley's Continuing Education since
1997. He has also provided free of cost an ongoing martial arts program
for Langley's Douglas Park Elementary the past 5 years. Master Witt was
invited as a guest speaker to the International Symposium on Education
at the Hyatt in 2001.
- Pacific Coast Taekwondo is celebrating
it's 15th year in Langley, same location.
- Special Presentation was made at the
day's end by his instructor, UTJF Founder & President Grandmaster Ronald
Suggs, presenting Master Witt with promotion to UTJF Grandmaster, in
appreciation of last 10 years of meritorious service to community and
Taekwondo as an art.
